Moraba is the computer version of an age old African counting game played with seeds in bowls (West Africa) or pebbles in holes on the ground (Southern Africa). There are 8 bowls arranged in two parallel lines. At the start of the game every bowl has 4 pebbles making a total of 32 pebbles . The object is to pick pebbles in any bowl not marked as home and moving clockwise drop one pebble at a time in consecutive bowls and keep doing this until all the pebbles are in the home bowl. This must be done with as few moves as possible. When the hand drops the last pebble in a bowl it can pick from that bowl provided there was at least one pebble in the bowl. In this case the move is not broken and it continues. If the bowl was empty or marked home then the move is broken and the hand can pick from any bowl for the next move. For each move 5 points are lost until the home bowl is filled. The strategy therefore is to carefully calculate a move as far ahead as possible to determine that you dont end your hand in an empty bowl or Home for as long as possible.
