Overtraining is not just overdoing it for the sake of itself, but is actually detrimental. Overtraining means that you not only won’t benefit yourself any more by doing more sets and more reps, but you are irreparably harming the muscle to the point where you are damaging it so it cannot grow back stronger or larger. You take a step back! Why go to the gym at all if you plan on overtraining?
